blog entry #1

I've been making art ever since I can remember. I find art to be life’s purpose. The idea that the world is run by power hungry, money hording people makes me sick, because we then have to partake in their masculine immaturity whether we want to or not. If you have never looked up on a starry night nor have respect the genius in an abnormal chord you shouldn’t be alive. I create art because I believe it’s what we’re meant to do.

I don’t like the idea of being told what to do. I believe teaching skews originality. Not to say it’s a bad thing, but a true artist should be able to master his art form from his own perspective, not that of another. I don’t understand why we applaud a painting that replicates a photo or a real-life scenario. A photo can be a beautiful piece of artwork it’s self. Sure it takes a massive amount of talent to actually do so, but talent also includes a creative imagination. A straight life-like portrait is not creative by any means, to me at least.

It’s not that I’m choosing art as a career; but more that I know I have to do something to feed our violent economy and that being, the only thing I’m decent at, is art. If I had it my way, money wouldn’t exist and I would trade my artwork for what ever it is I want. Without money there would be no power, and without power control wouldn’t be an issue. True freedom is being able to claim everything and nothing at all.

Music’s a big part of my life as well. Without music or the people who make music for a living I would be lost. It’s depressing to me when all of the money in music revolves around a good beat, or a catchy chorus. There are so many artist who devout their lives to their music and never get a break because there’s something different about it. So many people don’t understand what art really is and it makes me want to vomit.
